Volcano Bay Coming in 2017
Universal Orlando Resort has announced more details on their third park – Volcano Bay. Located near the Cabana Bay Beach Resort, the water park will open to guests in 2017. The volcano named Krakatau will be the iconic centerpiece of the park and will transform from flowing streams and gushing waterfalls during the day, to spewing lava once night falls. The islanders will challenge you to try the water-slides through Krakatau. The truly brave, may honor the god of the waterfall, Vol, by taking the 70-degree drop on the Ko’okiri Body Plunge.
For a more sedate experience, the River Village at the base of Krakatau, will have Tot Tiki Reef and Runamukka Reef, for toddlers and older kids. While the whole family can enjoy floating around the Kopiko Wai Winding River. Rainforest Village delivers tube rides for all ages, while Wave Village has the exhilarating wave pool.
There will be much more announced in the months to come, but this is one water-park I am actually looking forward to seeing. If they can theme this as well as they have the recent additions to their theme parks, we are in for one heck of a treat.
